Manager - Event Planning
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Can-do attitude with the ability to think several steps ahead to anticipate problems and create solutions
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
- Ability to champion the Sunoco brand and build a rapport with event attendees
- Ability to effectively work cross functionally with other departments and functions
- Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate across internal and external teams
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail
- Superior customer service skills. A calm and organized approach to working in high pressure situations
- Results oriented with a proven track record of leadership and taking ownership that produces exceptional results
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management or related field. Degree in other fields with demonstrated ability and experience also accepted
- 8+ years of experience in managing customer events. Experience with high-end events preferred
- Proficient with Cvent event management software
- Flexibility for domestic or international travel. Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends, as needed. Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
