PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for Aloha Petroleum’s (Aloha’s) Operations, Midstream and Transportation Divisions.  The position requires a detailed set of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and associated analytical responsibilities that will support Aloha’s leaders’ ability to make timely, accurate and data-driven business decisions that provide for their Division’s financial success.  Furthermore, this position will require the completion of FP&A for a multitude of special projects as Aloha pursues additional business growth opportunities. 

In addition, this position will have significant accounting responsibilities to provide back-up and direct accounting support to both Aloha’s Controller and Manager of Accounting, particularly during the monthly Close process.   Finally, the position will require facilitating the close interdepartmental coordination with Sunoco’s FP&A and Accounting teams to ensure best practices and efficiencies.

This role has a current pay range of $120,000 – $147,000. The listed pay range represents the company’s good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and collaborate with Aloha’s and Sunoco’s leadership in developing annual budgeting that provides necessary financial details to the Aloha Divisions.
  • Communicate detailed period financial reporting to the Aloha Divisions’ leadership.
  • Identify and assess on a monthly or as-needed basis the financial exceptions for the Aloha leadership by providing necessary additional details/back-up regarding the nature of exceptions.
  • Develop comprehensive mid-month forecasting on behalf of Aloha to Sunoco’s FP&A teams.
  • Complete growth capital modeling for business development opportunities.
  • Complete business development FP&A to measure Aloha’s growth projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain strong interdepartmental collaboration with and support of the Accounting Team - in particular the Controller and Accounting Manager. 
  • Provide for back-up accounting functions for the Accounting Manager by developing a comprehensive knowledge of both the PDI system and Aloha’s retail accounting procedures.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Aloha’s financial reports are completed timely and accurately in PDI and TM1 systems.  Distributes all reporting in accordance with their deadline.
  • Financial data is organized in a manner to provide meaningful information to Aloha’s leadership in a timely and efficient manner.  Maintains an initiative-taking review of all reporting to identify and provide insight to all exceptions.
  • Maintains a strong aptitude of PDI and TM1 to ensure support for Aloha’s Accounting team.  Completes Closing duties as required.
  • Develops accurate and timely mid-month forecasting, which may be provided to Sunoco for each month’s financial reviews.
  • Maintains a strong interdepartmental rapport with Sunoco FP&A.

Skills/Knowledge: 

·         Experience shall include significant proficiencies with financial reporting systems, retail accounting, wholesale distribution accounting, budget development and financial statement preparation and analyses.

·         Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Demonstrates a strong aptitude for continual process improvement and innovative solutions.

·         Has interest in further professional development within Aloha that may extend beyond FP&A and accounting responsibilities.

 

Education/Experience:

·         Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance or related fields

·         Minimum of eight years of experience in finance or accounting positions
