Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.
Summary
This position is responsible for directing, coordinating, and monitoring the Sunoco Performance Products Operations group which includes process unit operations, blending and distribution, and maintenance to assure reliability, optimization, budget, Health & Safety, environmental compliance PSM compliance and quality goals are met or exceeded. This includes planning and project management for long range capital projects (Unit Turnarounds, infrastructure upgrades, equipment, etc.), managing building and equipment service and maintenance issues that arise, monitoring product quality, and overseeing Process Safety Management. It requires strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations as well as to Sunoco Performance Products high standards of operational integrity and respect for the public safety and environment. Finished product is relied upon by racing sanctioning bodies such as NASCAR and the like so the commitment to product quality and consistency cannot be overstated.
Essential Duties and Responsibility:
Operations Management
· Forecast production requirements and establish production run rates – document historical production data.
· Mange repair and PM efforts to ensure reliability.
· Assist operators with diagnostic efforts in trouble shooting operational issues.
· Available 24/7 for Emergency Operational issues.
· Develop 1-, 3-, and 5-year Maintenance and Capital plans.
· Daily rounds and meetings with operators to gauge productivity and verify safety.
Compliance
· MOC, PSSR, General Preplan, work permit.
· Manage API – Tank, Pipe, and Vessel compliance
· Manage OSHA compliance
· Manage DEP, PADEP, EPA compliance.
· Lead PHA, LOPA, HES, PSM audits
· Lead Incident investigations.
· P&ID development and Review.
· Standard Operating Procedure / Safety Standard Review and development
· Lead internal Audits / manage findings / develop strategy to mitigate findings – 3-year PSM, HES, LOPA, PHA – Monthly HES.
Training
· Emergency Response
· Standard Operating Procedure / Safety Standard
· Quarterly / Annual Tabletop Drills / What If Scenario
· Employee compliance Training – CBT, Risk, HazCOM, HM232, DOT, etc.
· Employee qualification and Re-certification process.
Financial/Budget
· Develops and manages Expense and Capital budgets.
· Monitors and approves Expenses. Provides cost control and adherence to budget.
· Project management – Plan, Bid, budget, execute and track Turn Around activities and special projects.
· Procurement – Contracts and Purchase Requisition thru Accounts Payable.
· Contract administrator duties – hire and manage contractor
· Coordinates with supply group to forecast process unit charge stock and blend component stocks demand and manage the inventories.
Human Resources
· Hiring Process
· Goal Setting / Performance Reviews
· Quarterly evaluations
· Coaching sessions / Discipline
· Exception time / work schedule management.
· Represented Employee Contract evaluation.
Supply/ HES / SPM&T MHIC
· Attend operational facility updates
· Coordinate dock and tank transfers
· Manage facility agreements.
· Coordinate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security response with facility Responders (OSRO)
· Incident Command / Respond to facility utility outages.
Essential Qualification Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- 2-5 years of production planning and scheduling experience.
- 2-5 years of project development and management experience
- 2-5 years of developing and executing operational procedures and standards
- 8+ years directly related to petroleum processing industry as it relates to Process Operations, Blending Operations, and Terminal operations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
- Must be able to obtain a Federal Government issued TWIC card.
- Knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and processes associated with gasoline loading racks, petroleum storage tanks, Vapor Recovery systems, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings.
- Knowledge of ANSI, API, OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks / projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Must possess a high level of Mechanical aptitude, problem solving and trouble shooting. Working knowledge and experience with basic business computer skills. (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Contract Administrator training.

Experience developing and managing Operational and Capital expense budgets.

SAP - Plant Maintenance, Asset Management, Plan Development and Work Order Process.

Experience managing represented employees.

Experience working closely with Supply and procurement of blend components.

- Some travel required
- Must be available for emergency call-out duties.
- Use and operate all pertinent safety equipment (PPE) when working in potentially hazardous areas which may include occasional exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions, rotating equipment and loud machinery.
- Be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and outdoors in extreme weather and perform heavy physical labor including lifting of up to 50 pounds in a safe manner.
