Position Summary

This position is responsible for the management of the company’s Operational Technology (OT).  This includes Process Control Networks (PCN) at multiple sites and geographical regions.  It commands a wide range of knowledge and experience to manage the team that administers & maintains the Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure (control system network and servers) for several LPG processing & terminal facilities.  Good analytical skills are required to diagnose problems, and the candidate must be able to identify multiple alternatives and/or recommendations for a given problem, as well as facilitate the implementation of solutions.  The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert, and will provide hands-on support, if needed, and guidance focusing on reliability, optimization, and security, and will also be responsible for requirements, policies, and procedures for the operation of all PCN OT infrastructure.


  • Manager Responsibilities for OT:
    • Responsible for the overall management of the OT practice
    • Work with representatives from the Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, Operations and Engineering groups to create, implement, and enforce policies, procedures and standards that minimize risk and increase stability and efficiencies in the OT Networks
    • Manage team of server and network specialists for OT
    • Hands-on management of OT and Cybersecurity support tools and infrastructure if needed
    • Liaison between Operations and Enterprise IT
    • Contract, license, and maintenance management for OT hardware, software, and operating systems in all OT Networks
    • Ensure all sites have Incident Response Plans
    • Ensure all sites have viable Backup and Disaster Recovery plans
    • Prepare management reports
  • Operational Technology (OT) Server & Network SME for Large Capital projects.  Ensure all OT and Cybersecurity requirements are met throughout the project life cycle.
  • Work with Enterprise IT to develop, implement, and maintain a cybersecurity framework for OT system that meets NIST or other comparable standards
  • Provide on-call support to the 24x7 control infrastructure.
  • As needed coverage of critical server & network responsibilities.

Essential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline, including a minimum 8+  years’ experience.  Equivalent experience and demonstrated equivalent competency may supplant the bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience managing a team of IT or OT professionals.
  • Solid understanding of industry standard design principles and best practices for system and network reliability, performance, and security.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
  • Must be able to communicate and work with diverse stakeholders, including: Enterprise IT, operations staff, engineering staff, cybersecurity staff, plant supervisors and management, third-party integrators, and vendors.
  • Position requires the ability to balance multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to shift established priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound organizational skills.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships.  Ability to function effectively in a team environment, both as a team leader as well as a functional team member.
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs.  Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.  Must be able to respond to visual and audible.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to facility locations throughout the US, such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Texas.



Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure or experience within the Oil & Gas industry, especially supporting Process Control Networks/DCS/SCADA operating systems preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience designing, deploying, managing and supporting physical and virtual Windows environments.  Including Domain, AD, Servers, Workstations, thin clients.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best-practices API 1164, ISA-99, NERC-CIP, NIST 800 (ICS cybersecurity knowledge preferred).
  • Experience in designing, deploying, managing & supporting critical network environments.  Experience with common and industrial protocols such as: TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and RIP v2, spanning-tree, HSRP, VRRP & VSS.
  • Experience with supporting various Industrial Control Systems preferred.
  • IT, Cybersecurity and ICS related certifications are preferred.  (MCSE, CCNA, Security+, GISCP, CISSP)
