Summary:

 

This position will be responsible for providing mechanical support to the Prover Services and Measurement Operations and Operations groups in New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi where measurement assets require mechanical assistance, with a primary focus on Small Volume and Ball Provers and their associated water draw maintenance.

 
 
Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Assist Measurement Operations/Operations with Job scope and planning for Prover water draws completed in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance on stationary and portable provers, small volume and ball.

  • Responsible for the small volume internal seal change prior to a water draw, ball change on a ball prover.

  • Monitor/observe the decommissioning and isolation of the provers prior to any water draws, then follow up by monitoring the recommissioning of the prover after work is completed.

  • Take the lead in the swivel joint seal repairs on the portable provers across the Energy Transfer assets.

  • Will need to have a working knowledge of multiple valve types, and the ability to make the necessary repairs at field locations. Valve types include but are not limited to; ball valves, double block and bleed valves, gate valves, 4-way valves,

  • Must have the ability to recognize, analyze and troubleshoot problems with our measurement equipment.  This will primarily be a mechanical ability, but include some electrical and hydraulic knowledge.

  • Must have the ability to travel extensively, 4 out of 5 nights a week at times, with regularity.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, requires frequent communications with local operations groups, pipeline control, measurement techs, and 3rd party witnesses involved with our provers.

  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, EPA regulations, and familiar with DOT codes.

  • Must be competent with computers and various types of test equipment. 

  • Must be able to complete all paperwork and documentation associated with each project or task you perform.

  • Responsible for safety on all assigned job/ task. Must ensure the proper PPE for each task performed, and the ability to maintain and operate the safety equipment required for the job.

  • Maintain safe and healthful working conditions by exercising sound judgement, complying with all industry safety regulations and standards, and keep current with changing industry regulations and standards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Required Education
  • High School diploma or GED.
 

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • Level C requires a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.

  • Level B  requires a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.

  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.

  • Must have a valid commercial driver’s license for the state of residence.

  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.

  • The ability to climb ladders and maneuver in small places.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
