Summary: 


The IT SAP BPC/BW4HANA position is primarily responsible for supporting the SAP BPC Consolidation and Planning for users with in-depth expertise in SAP BPC and BW/4HANA areas. Perform system support and analysis and design for SAP and other IT solutions to support Data Extraction and Reporting processes. Knowledgeable and experience with other modules such as FI, CO & Planning, along with the corresponding business processes and related project implementation. The candidate will use in-depth analysis skills, business knowledge, and technical expertise to implement effective solutions and provide support services to end users. Additional responsibilities include managing the development and maintenance of system documentation, procedures, and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management: 

  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities in order to ensure project goals are accomplished within defined constraints.
  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

Problem Resolution: 

  • Research production problems and/or enhancement issues and make appropriate configuration changes to the system. Initiate action and evaluate issues to develop alternative solutions. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Conduct day-to-day troubleshooting and break-fix activities. Provide telephone support to share in the 24x7 365 day support of SAP production system.
  • Key member of the SAP BPC Support team responsible for the functional design, configuration, and validation of the SAP solution supporting Consolidation and Planning modules in an engineer to order environment.
  • Collaborate with other teams responsible for related functional areas (Record to Report - SAP FICO) and technical teams (Basis, Security, Development, Integration).
  • Log issues and maintain status in issue tracking system for prioritizing work and reporting status.

Continuous Improvement and Efficiency Projects:

  • Interact with all levels of business to analyze business requirements/processes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business on various approaches by explaining industry best practices for business processes and executing solutions. Recommend and implement approved process improvements or new functionality.
  • Provide assessment of solution options with associated business and technology impact, along with estimates for delivery. 
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed SAP functional specifications and coordinate with technical team for solution design and development. 
  • Configure SAP and develop/perform unit tests in accordance with specifications.
  • Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes. 
  • Document business procedures, configuration changes, test scenarios, test plans and results, and client training materials.
  • Knowledge Transfer/Mentor:
  • Develop and conduct SAP training and knowledge transfer to business clients.
  • Proactively train other IT resources to further develop their understanding of SAP application configuration and business processes.

SOX Compliance

  • Ensure that changes/enhancements are completed using appropriate SOX control processes.  Recommend/implement SOX change control process changes as necessary

Requirements: 
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10+ years of related experience, including 2 SAP full project life cycle implementations.  
  • Experience in Financial Consolidation and Reporting Process
  • Hands-on experience in SAP BPC 10.1 or 11, BW/4HANA, AO (Analysis for Office).
  • Designing and implementing SAP BW, BPC and HANA Analytics solutions.
  • Responsible for owning SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) solutions which primarily includes BPC 11.0 and BPC optimized for S/4HANA
  • SAP BW competency in data modeling, financial content, SAP extractors, extraction, transformation, loading, reports & queries using Bex and HANA queries.
  • SAP BPC Optimized/Embedded version experience to develop Planning Functions, Planning Sequence and Aggregation Level Queries.
  • Expertise in SAP BPC implementation, technical/functional upgrades and migration.
  • Working knowledge in SAP BODS, BOBJ and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Midstream Oil & Gas industry is a plus
  • Previous experience supporting previous versions of SAP FI and SAP BPC is a plus
  • SAP Certification is a plus

Working Conditions: 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.  
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.  
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
