Summary:

This position will support capital projects associated with process engineering and design.  This position will be responsible for the implementation and support of the entire project cycle for plant improvements and growth projects including scope and design development, request for funding preparation, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution, construction oversight, and project close-out documentation.   Position requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 5+ years’ industry experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Project Manager is responsible for meeting the project scope, budget, and schedule for processing and treating projects that include Butane Blending, NGL fractionation, NGL export terminals, and Alternative Energy to name a few. 
  • Implement entire project cycle for plant improvement projects including scope and design development, request for funding preparation, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution and construction oversight, and project completion.  
  • Provide project direction to project team members including project controls, engineering design, operations, ROW, legal, environmental, supply chain, etc. 
  • Work with (and provide guidance to) the construction group members in construction and inspection activities.
  • Supports business development (BD) with engineering reports, documentation, alternative options/designs, estimates, studies, capabilities definition, and presentation materials including making presentations to potential and existing client representatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to project stakeholders including commercial development, operations, and executive Management
  • Take part in PSM activities for growth projects and the development and implementation of PSM work including design reviews, PHA’s, MOC’s, training, etc.
  • Work with design and process engineers to develop projects that adhere to Company engineering standards, code compliance, safety requirements, and other accepted industry engineering practices.
  • Coordinate with company operations personnel, as well as outside vendors and contractors for project implementation. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a larger team.
  • Work with plant operations personnel to help improve plant operations (troubleshooting).
  • Work with System Planning group, providing guidance on abilities of existing equipment to absorb system expansion projects.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering knowledge base and proficiencies, and share knowledge with others.

 

Requirements:


Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years related experience in NGL processing, fractionation, pipeline, terminal, and/or refinery environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
  • 5+ years Engineering, operations, and/or project experience
  • Microsoft products including MS Project
  • Engineering programs

 Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience.
  • The Sr. Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job-related experience.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Liquified Petroleum and OSHA Process Safety Management knowledge
  • Familiarity with NFPA-58, NEC, ASME, API and ASTM specifications, standards and recommended practices. 

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions. 
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Overnight travel is required, when necessary to manage projects, up to 25% of work time.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery which will require appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
