Summary
The Project Manager will report to the Sr Manager – Engineering and support the Butane Blending Engineering Department. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage, direct and complete LPG infrastructure projects. This will include the design, permitting, construction and commissioning phases of capital growth projects. The Project Manager will also support other Northeast Region capital projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee project scoping, detailed design, permitting, procurement and contracting.
- Requires “hands on” management of construction crews, inspectors, and internal resources to ensure that LPG projects are built to fulfill the commercial objectives, compliant with safe work practices, conform to all company procedures and specifications, and strictly adhere with all local, state and federal rules, codes and regulations.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining project scopes, work plans, project and construction schedules, construction records, scope change control, and budgetary control to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and safe manner. This includes Commercial, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, EHS, Accounting, IT, etc.
- Assist with capital project budget development.
- As needed, additional functions may be assigned to meet company’s business needs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years related experience in NGL processing, fractionation, pipeline, terminal, and/or refinery environment.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
- 5+ years Engineering, operations, and/or project experience
- Very capable with Microsoft products including MS Project
- Utilize, understand, and adhere to contracts and agreements within scopes of work.
- Must be a team player and willing to assist outside of own discipline.
- Willing to acquire new job knowledge, skills, and assist outside of own discipline.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Project Manager level requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 6+ years of relevant job-related experience.
- The Sr Project Manager level requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 8+ years of relevant job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Liquified Petroleum and OSHA Process Safety Management knowledge.
- Familiarity with NFPA-58, NEC, ASME, API and ASTM specifications, standards and recommended practices.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Prior Supervisory or Managerial experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Overnight travel is required when necessary to manage projects and develop new project budgets. Up to 30% of work time.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery which will require appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
