Job Summary:
Performs in-depth and complex planning, scheduling and coordination of product movements of bulk liquids via pipeline, truck, rail, and barge/vessel to ensure continuity of marketing supply. Works closely with commercial team in direct support of marketing strategy.
Core Responsibilities:
Effectively manages and assists others with the overall supply chain for refined and/or renewable products
Seamlessly resolves product supply issues as a result of planned or unplanned events
Leads development on solutions to complex problems
Inventory management in the process of scheduling, and oversees inventory targets for the team
Ensures solutions are consistent with organization’s objectives
Interfaces with industry counterparts and 3rd party carriers to negotiate and coordinate deliveries of required inventory
Authorizes the transfer of products with 3rd parties
Collaborates with trading to ensure adequate purchases/sales of product to meet supply needs
Evaluates alternative logistics modes or routes for bulk movements for more efficient supply chain
Optimizes the product supply chain to reduce logistics costs
Ensures that all scheduling processes take place in a correct and timely manner
Responsible for analyzing the demand and supply balance
Monitors and provides analyses of finished product inventory
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
Bachelor's degree in logistics/business or related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience
Demonstrated ability to work and negotiate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be on call 24/7
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (both written and verbal), computer skills, and analytical skills
Thrives in cross-functional team environment
Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Pipeline scheduling experience preferred
Desired/Preferred Skills:
Exposure to one or more energy markets (crude oil and/or petroleum products)
Understanding of the interaction and significance of the various aspects/elements of the refined products trading/marketing supply chain is desirable
Ability to apply a well-developed understanding of business strategies and logistics operations to achieve the business and team objectives
Understanding of SAP, RightAngle and/or Transport 4 systems
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
