Summary:
Senior Accountant – External Financial Reporting
The Senior Accountant prepares financial statements and related footnotes to meet the external financial reporting requirements for Energy Transfer’s interstate natural gas pipelines. The financial reporting deliverables include GAAP financial statements and regulatory financial reports to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review regulatory and GAAP financial statements for Energy Transfer’s interstate natural gas pipelines on a quarterly and annual basis
- Perform debt covenant analysis on a quarterly and annual basis
- Research and help resolve accounting and reporting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP and FERC requirements
- Interact with our external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial reporting
- Special projects as required
Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Degree in Accounting preferred.
- 5 plus years of audit/financial reporting work experience
- Detail-oriented with strong technical and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- MS Excel and Word proficient
- Team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

- SAP and BPC software experience
- CPA preferred
Working Conditions:
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
