This position will support LPG Capital Projects Construction at the Nederland Terminal and will report to the Director of Process Engineering. This position will be responsible for the implementation of the entire project cycle for plant improvement and growth projects including scope and design development, AFE preparation, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution and construction oversight, and project completion.   Position requires Bachelor’s in Engineering Discipline or equivalent field experience


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
**Lists duties and responsibilities in rank of importance or time spent doing each job duty. Must constitute at least 5% of an incumbent’s time.

  • Manage capital growth derived projects in Nederland, Texas area meeting project scope, budget, and schedule requirements.

  • Implement entire project cycle for plant improvement projects including scope and design development, AFE preparation, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution and construction oversight, and project completion.  

  • Manage Tank Construction and Repair Projects with familiarity with API Codes 620, 625, 650 and 653.

  • Coordinate with company operations personnel, as well as outside vendors and contractors for project implementation. 

  • Take part in PSM activities for area facilities involving project development and implementation (Design reviews, PHA’s, MOC’s, training, etc.)

  • Work with Senior Process Engineers to develop projects that follow: engineering standards, code compliance, proper company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.

  • This role is a non-formal technical leader for operations personnel in the organization.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a larger Team.

  • Work with plant operations personnel to help improve plant operations (troubleshooting).

  • Work with Facility Planning group, providing guidance on abilities of existing equipment to absorb system expansion projects.

  • Work with junior level engineers to help them develop process solutions and educate junior staff concerning: engineering standards, code compliance, proper company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.

  • Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen Construction knowledge base and proficiencies, and share knowledge with others

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering Discipline or equivalent field experience

  • Previous Petroleum Terminal industry understanding

  • 20+ years Engineering, operations, and/or project experience

  • Microsoft Products
  • Engineering Programs

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions. 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required. 

  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
