Summary:
  • Provides project leadership, including defining the project's objectives and scope, overseeing quality control, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects/products according to plan
  • Responsible for development and implementation of Retail Technology projects related to mobile payments, digital offers and loyalty host technology through mobile app, for retail service stations and convenience stores
  • Position transitions into a Product Manager role where the candidate is the subject matter expert and final escalation point in solving mobile payment technology problems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for the successful outcome of Mobile Payment Retail Technology projects
  • Manages project life cycle from initiation through deployment and project closure
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of projects, project staff, and vendors
  • Creates, manages and tracks project documents, including, but not limited to: project schedules, including estimates versus actuals, project plans, scope of work documents, cost estimates, resource plans, risk and issues logs, and status reports
  • Organizes, conducts, and attends meetings with project team to facilitate all levels of project planning
  • Set policies and procedures to manage changes, communicate schedules, train technicians and users, create purchase orders and overall execution of work
  • Works with project managers of other teams to ensure overall business needs are being met for company initiatives
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers as needed in regards to project deliverables including managing expectations, and project status
  • Drives decisions, including difficult tradeoffs that may be needed between resources, schedule, and functionality
  • Gathers and manages business requirements, collaborates with team in developing new feature specifications
  • Manages and prioritizes queue of system issues and new features
  • Acts as liaison to vendor technical staff for solving problems and implementing new solutions
  • Consultant to the business and other analysts on interoperability, etc.
  • Controls the schedule of approved software releases and communicates updates to operations, marketing, and technical staff
  • Works with beta test coordinator to evaluate readiness for production rollout
  • Escalation point between Sunoco technical support personnel and technical project staff

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field, or 2 years college and 5 years of experience with C-store and fuel control systems.
  • 2+ years of related experience in a technology environment, including two to three years of professional experience in project management
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Expertise with electronic payment systems processing, mobile wallets, and mobile payments
  • Understanding of Retail Technologies including Point of Sale and Communication Systems
  • Experience in a technology environment in the Petroleum and Convenience industry

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
