Summary:  The Senior Accountant position will play a key role within the Interstate Gas Financial Reporting Team and will primarily be responsible for complex annual and quarterly FERC filings for multiple companies, along with GAAP financial statements.  This position will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and should be a self-starter and fast learner who can manage deadlines with minimal supervision.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review annual/quarterly FERC filings, including all financial statements and footnotes
  • Prepare and review quarterly GAAP financial statements
  • Prepare schedules and interact with external auditors and various departments within the company
  • Support special projects, technical research or financial analysis when needed by management
  • Ability to gather and communicate data logically, accurately and concisely

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5 - 8 years of experience
  • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Thorough analytical and research proficiencies, with an attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and proactively to identify and resolve issues
  • Able to perform most assignments with minimal supervision
  • Oil and gas experience a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP and BPC accounting system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA preferred

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.

2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3. Occasional travel may be required.
