Sr. Designer – Piping & Mechanical Systems
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical training or Associates Degree in related field preferred.
- 5-8 years designing and drafting mechanical, civil / structural or electrical/I&C.
- Working knowledge of DOT 192 / 195 pipeline compression / pump facilities
- Knowledge of NGL processing facilities and process equipment.
- Proficient using AutoCad 2018, CadWorx; Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of drawing management tools
- Must have the ability to develop design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.
- Read and understand system P&IDs related to pipeline and facility layouts and process equipment.
- Working knowledge of industry standards for drafting techniques, including mechanical, elecrtrical, instrumentation and piping.
- Multiple disciplined experience in design and drafting preferred.
- Working knowledge of design in control wiring diagrams, loop diagrams and control panel layout drawings. 3D AutoCad and/or database experience is a plus.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work under supervision or independent to meet required deadlines.
- Support department in meeting defined goals and initiatives.
- Self-starter with good organizational and planning skills.
- Must be able to perform task with minimal guidance or supervision.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Overnight travel will be required.
- Position is based in industrial settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
