Summary:

In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 71,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids pipelines, terminals, and acquisition and marketing assets which are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and refined products

 

Reporting into the Project Engineering Department this position will act as Subject Matter Expert for all Subsea related projects that Energy Transfer is involved in and will support Project managers on wide range of Subsea engineering projects. Job function includes preliminary project scoping, estimating and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and project execution.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Operationally reports into the assigned Project Manager and co-ordinates scope and cost estimate preparation, detailed engineering and project execution.
  • Interfaces with various internal customers to ensure scope includes required items for safe and efficient operation of the new project.
  • Manages internal customers’ needs for cost estimates in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in the qualification of consultants used during pre-design and post AFE approvals
  • May function as full time Project manager on certain small projects in addition to scoping and estimating responsibilities.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Develops data and makes preliminary layouts, process flow diagrams, sketches and notes necessary to scope a project.
  • Provides imaginative, thorough and practicable solutions to a wide range of scoping needs.
  • Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and spend extended time offshore during construction/commissioning of new projects.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Ability to handle problems and facilitate successful outcomes.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field of engineering with Subsea engineering and design experience.
  • Experience leading a team towards completing multiple capital projects.
  • 6 - 10 years advanced experience in managing multiple engineering, design, construction, and planning projects related to Subsea projects.
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and relevant codes.
  • Ability to develop and present multiple alternatives to an individual problem or situation.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; good organizational skills.
  • Experience developing/reviewing piping, instrument and electrical diagrams.
  • Must have well developed PC skills, (Microsoft Office: WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, MS Project, etc.)
  • Travel to various ET facilities for project scoping and review meetings as required.
  • Travel and spend extended time offshore during critical phases of the project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Project Management certification
  • Professional Engineering License

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
