Sr Scheduler - Natural Gas Operations
Energy Transfer Partners - We are one of the largest Master Limited Partnerships with one of the most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States, totaling more than 100,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, natural gas liquids and refined products pipelines, traversing 41 states with associated terminalling, storage and fractionation facilities.
Summary
Schedule natural gas while working with traders, originators and other schedulers to optimize and accurately provide activities on multiple pipelines in support of the trading organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand the basic movement of natural gas, knowledge of electronic bulletin boards, knowledge and understanding of using pipeline tariffs, internal tracking systems and is capable of tracking transactions from inception to month end.
- Work toward understanding pipeline contracts to optimize in the most efficient manner.
- Verify transactions with third parties and maintain good relationships.
- Monitor pipeline volumes in pipeline EBB’s and reforecast volumes when necessary.
- Maintain all associated spreadsheets, pipeline imbalances, PAL balances, and storage balances.
- Monitor pipeline notices and alert team to relevant issues.
- Cross train on other pipelines as necessary to gain knowledge of those pipelines.
- Assist internal departments and individuals on a daily basis and in special projects as needed.
- Knowledge of nominating on Permian, West and Midcontinent pipelines is a plus.
- Lead by example, support and promote the ETC corporate philosophy and work ethic.
Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or additional commensurate work experience.
- 5 -8 years of analytical experience in a related area to have a working knowledge of natural gas, gas scheduling, tariffs, contracts and/or gas accounting. Experience should include 5+ years in gas scheduling or a related area.
- Some travel required.
- Required to rotate on call duties which results in working evening/weekend hours and rotate the holiday coverage as scheduled by the team.
- Position is 100% work in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to multitask, analyze, and problem solve.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and planning skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills along with a high skill set in Excel and Word.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of nominating on Permian, West and Midcontinent pipelines is a plus.
- Knowledge of Allegro – Horizon is a plus.
