Summary:

The Senior Marketing Specialist, Fuels Marketing will support the Director of Marketing in the development of Sunoco LP marketing activation and communication. This responsibility includes leveraging brand platforms, corporate partnerships, advertising and digital engagement to drive growth for the Sunoco fuel brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the on-going development, refinement and communication of Sunoco LP marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in and contribute to discussions around annual creative campaign. development; media; POP; and, social and digital activations that drive growth goals.
  • Support the development and execution of creative campaigns across all platforms – national, regional and station-level marketing programs.
  • Lead the development and management of the promotional calendar including briefing agency and internal partners around the development of program elements including production and budget planning.
  • Support and lead the strategy development, activation and day-to-day management of all key marketing motorsports partnerships.
  • Assist in the on-going management of the marketing budget.
  • Related to all responsibilities, it is imperative the Senior Specialist continue to improve and adapt programming based on analyzing results and shifting consumer behaviors, and adjust marketing strategy to develop more effective ways to execute against program goals.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • Bachelor’s in Business or related field.
  • Five plus years business experience in marketing required.
  • Experience in retail, CPG and/or fuel industries preferred
  • This individual should be both creative and analytical, be accustomed to evaluating marketing trends and evaluating available research.
  • Must be capable of understanding broad marketing strategic concepts, developing short- and long-term objectives and translating them into opportunities.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of management
  • Ability to simplify and present abstract concepts
  • Strong project management skills and able to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to present and work with business heads and executives to drive marketing capabilities
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills

Software Knowledge:

  • Proficient use of financial systems and analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel with the ability to manipulate and analyze data.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
