Performs NDE and Welding Auditing and Evaluation of Engineering Projects to determine compliance with Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs NDE  and Welding Auditing and Evaluation of Engineering Projects to determine compliance with Standards API 1104, ASME SEC V, IX, B31,3, B31-4, and ASME B31,8 and regulations CFR DOT 192, 193, and 195.
  • Interprets and evaluates test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
  • Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Audits NDE and Fabrication vendors for addition to company approved NDE providers list.
  • Is the NDE Technical resource for Engineering Projects and provides guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process-related topics. Also, will provide backup to Engineering Projects Welding Specialist.


Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Calibration and operation of equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials
  • Making radiographic images to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact
  • Mapping the presence of imperfections within objects using sonic measurements
  • Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results
  • Measure physical or chemical properties of materials or objects
  • Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques
  • Test characteristics of materials or structures.
  • Preparing reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1.  ANST TC 1A Level 2 RT, UT, MT, and PT
  2.  AWS-CWI
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
