Sr Specialist - Operational Technology
Essential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline, including a minimum 2-5 years’ experience. Equivalent experience and demonstrated equivalent competency may supplant the bachelor’s degree.
- Solid understanding of industry standard design principles and best practices for system and network reliability, performance, and security.
- Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
- Must be able to communicate and work with diverse stakeholders, including: Enterprise IT, operations staff, engineering staff, cybersecurity staff, plant supervisors and management, third-party integrators, and vendors.
- Position requires the ability to balance multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to shift established priorities in response to changing business needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound organizational skills.
- Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Ability to function effectively in a team environment, both as a team leader as well as a functional team member.
- Competent with personal computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry safety practices.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
- Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to facility locations throughout the US, such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Texas.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
- Exposure or experience within the Oil & Gas industry, especially supporting PCN/DCS/SCADA operating systems preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience designing, deploying, managing and supporting physical and virtual Windows environments. Including Domain, AD, Servers, Workstations, thin clients.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best-practices API 1164, ISA-99, NERC-CIP, NIST 800 (ICS cybersecurity knowledge preferred).
- Experience in designing, deploying, managing & supporting critical network environments. Experience with common and industrial protocols such as: TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and RIP v2, spanning-tree, HSRP, VRRP & VSS.
- Experience with supporting various Industrial Control Systems preferred.

IT, Cybersecurity and ICS related certifications are preferred. (MCSE, CCNA, Security+, GISCP, CISSP)

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
