Summary:
The candidate will report to the EH&S Department’s Process Safety Director. The candidate will work individually, and as part of the Process Safety team, and will provide Engineering and Field Operations with hazard analysis services, including PHA, PHA Revalidations, LOPA, and Hazard Reviews.
- Assist the Company’s OSHA and EPA regulated facilities with managing, coordinating, and implementing all fourteen (14) elements of the PSM standard and the additional requirements of the EPA’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) to verify and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Experienced PSM and RMP regulated assets auditor
- Excellent communicating skills, both verbal and written, as well as a professional and courteous attitude.
- Conduct internal PSM and RMP compliance audits.
- Participate as a team member in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
- Facilitate the Management of Change process.
- Facilitate pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) for new facilities and expansions.
- Proficient in reading and understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Participate in and lead PSM incident investigations, including root cause failure analysis.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators to track the progress of facility PSM programs.
- Develop Emergency Response Plans and coordinate the plans with the local emergency provider committees (LEPC).
- Ability to travel to various Company facilities with travel exceeding 50 percent.
- Conduct internal PSM and RMP compliance audits.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
8 years of related experience including experience in PSM Incident investigations and methodologies.
· Knowledge with OSHA PSM and the EPA’s RMP regulations.
· Certified PSM and RMP auditor.
· Knowledge in Engineering codes and Standards (i.e., REGAGEPs)
· Ability to prioritize tasks and objectives.
· Ability to work independently with little oversight.
· Dependable and self-motivated.
· Ability to travel overnight to miscellaneous Company facilities.
· Ability to work as a team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Formal PSM 1910.119 training
· Formal EPA 40 CFR Part 68 training
· PHA Leader training
· Midstream processing and equipment knowledge
· Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage and handling knowledge
· Computer proficiency
· Ability to perform in a collaborative environment.
· Project professionalism.
· Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
· Customer service mentality.

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
