Sr Specialist - Regulatory Compliance
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of regulatory experience or other similar disciplines with exposure to federal regulations and compliance activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills required, including exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve non-routine issues independently.
- Ability to handle complex and highly confidential matters in a mature, professional manner.
- Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to think proactively, multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
- Possess a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, ability to work effectively with changing priorities
- Adhere to high ethical standards, function effectively as a team player and lead others to do the same.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to travel and work in field pipeline locations while wearing PPE
- Valid driver’s license is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Prior experience within the pipeline and energy industry
- Working knowledge of 49 CFR 191, 192, 194, 195 and 199 and standards incorporated by reference (API, ASME, MSS, ASTM, NFPA, NACE)
- Experience working with Federal and State regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of SharePoint
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
