Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Requires a minimum 8-10 years’ experience in welding and or welding project execution.
  3. Hold certification as American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI)
  4. Essential computer skills encompassing MS Office suite of applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Xcel, Power Point)
  5. Physically able to access (walk/climb) rough/steep terrain such as a pipeline "bell hole" or right of way

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Relevant oil/gas welding experience and practical application of welding principals is a plus. Ability to understand, interpret engineering drawings and specifications preferred.
  2. A high degree of interaction with a variety of groups from field construction personnel, vendors & internal personnel (environmental, engineering, operations), team-oriented, self-directed and the ability to be proactive rather than reactive.
  3. A strong knowledge base in advanced NDE technologies including guided wave testing, Phased Array ultrasonic testing, time of flight diffraction (TOFD), Automatic Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), remote field eddy current testing (RFEC), digital radiography.
  4. Public speaking and the ability lead and conduct meeting/presentations.

 

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  1. Typically, 8 hour days 5 Days /weekly, normal
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional overnight travel will be required.
  4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
