Staff Engineer - Air Permitting
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable engineer to support air permitting activities for capital projects. This position will be responsible for preparing air quality environmental permit applications at existing and new build projects associated with Energy Transfer’s various asset types. These assets include power generation sites, natural gas midstream facilities (including gathering, processing, and transportation), crude oil and refined products terminals, and NGL processing, transportation, and storage facilities.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Understanding of the various local, state & federal air quality regulations and how they apply to the natural gas midstream, crude oil & finished products, transportation, and NGL processing industries.
· Understanding of various state air regulations in as many of the following states as possible: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Experience with additional states in the Northeast is a plus.
· A complete understanding of Permit-by-Rule (PBR), Standard Permit registrations, and Title V permitting in Texas is necessary.
· An understanding of New Source Review permitting procedures. Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permitting procedures and Non-attainment New Source Review (NNSR) permitting experience is preferred.
· Must be able to prepare air permit applications including the following tasks: gathering data from multiple stakeholders, preparing emission calculations, assessing various control technologies, and evaluating state and federal regulatory applicability for various equipment and processes.
· Must have excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills, as well as great attention to detail.
· Must have the ability to work independently, deliver accurate and timely results, and to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Must have strong customer service orientation across all organizational levels.
· Must be able to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects with various groups and adapt to changing scopes and deadlines, as well as manage consulting firms as necessary.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
· Minimum 12+ years of relevant work experience
· Must have experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Specialized software like TankESP, GRI GlyCalc, ProMax, and/or other simulation software is preferred.
