This position will be responsible for supervising the activities pertaining to the accounting and reporting of all transactions involving General Ledger Accounting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly close process
  • Manage, motivate, and train staff
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with SOX process and regulatory requirements
  • Research accounting issues and special projects as needed


Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • +8 Years accounting experience required
  • Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.
  • Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written
  • Excellent organization skills and work habits
  • Flexibility with ability to work in a team setting supporting several people

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Energy industry experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Joint venture and general ledger experience preferred

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
