Requirements:  Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS or Computer Science or experience in lieu of degree plus 8+ years of Natural Gas Transmission As-Built experience.
  • Knowledge of pipeline data and pipeline regulatory data requirements is highly recommended (pipeline components/ specifications such as fittings and pipe segments; pipeline event data such as coating, hydro-test, and MAOP).
  • Strong experience with MS office
  • Must have extensive experience in gas transmission or related field, with As-Built or new construction project experience.
  • Possess familiarity with coordinate systems, such as UTM zones, NAD83, etc.
  • Must possess excellent research skills, extensive experience working with data/databases, pipeline historical documents such as alignment sheets, plats, location maps and construction notes (field books, re-chain).
  • Knowledge of pipeline materials, including Centerline stationing and proficiency in performing calculations for equations.
  • Familiarity with survey techniques considered beneficial.
  • Heavy use of ESRI ArcGIS tools (ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server)
  • Must be a flexible team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with others in a collaborative manner striving to maintain good working relationships with field and office personnel.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess strong organizational skills to organize and prioritize daily work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong project management skills, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
