Summary: 

This position will perform transmission system studies and market simulations using power flow programs and market modeling platforms for ETC Endure Energy at our Overland Park Kansas office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Identify transmission system capabilities and limitations, determine risks and opportunities in ISO Markets
  • Develop trade ideas independently and in conjunction with the Endure FTR and Power trading team
  • Create and validate trading algorithms and bid files
  • Assess positions and make recommendations on Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) strategies to ensure compliance with risk management policies
  • Reconcile energy accounting as necessary
  • Work in conjunction with power traders on the value of fixed price and option trade opportunities
  • Build quality relationships with industry participants
  • Analyze the commercial impact of generation and/or transmission projects and outages 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ISO Market Representatives and Market Monitors
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and participate meetings on issues related to Endure’s lines of business
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelors degree in General Business, Economics, Finance, or other relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research and modelling of electricity market supply, demand, pricing and grid congestion fundamentals for daily trading and to assess longer-term trends
  • Performing general quantitative analyses and econometric studies of energy markets
  • Tracking and analyzing electricity markets; monitoring and evaluating market and environmental policy developments that impact wholesale prices.
  • Data mining and analysis to identify commercial opportunities


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
