Job Responsibilities:

 

• Coordinates maintenance with Penske; keeps handhelds in trucks up and running.
• Performs small mechanical repairs to trucks in the field.
• Inspect trucks as needed.
• Keeps truck sites furnished with gauging and testing supplies and deal with probable turndown leases.
• Pre-gauge and sample as needed.
• Periodically counsels drivers; deals with unhappy pumpers in the field due to driver or dispatch problems.
• Trains and evaluates new and veteran drivers.
• Witnesses meter provings. Performs maintenance on truck unloading stations.
• Tank strapping of new leases.
• Obtains samples for sulfur testing for the Crude Representatives.
• Inspect SCBA, fire extinguishers, and calibrate monitors.
• Serves as back-up and relief for Area Supervisor as needed.
• Witness meter proving and pull sample pots
• Pick up paperwork from field locations (time sheets, station logs)
• Assist with TMW-people Net>hardware and computer based issue
• Assist with Safety Meetings
• Lease assessment
• Safety concerns
• Dispatch high volume areas
• Assist with interview process
• Conduct ride a-longs with drivers
• Validate lease mileages
• Ensure Smith System procedures are being followed.

 

Education and Experience:

 

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• 3+ years’ operations in crude trucking or other over/off road trucking operations.
• Must have excellent computer skills.
• Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the geographic area.
• Must be a team player and willing to build and use synergies between other trucking areas and companies within Sunoco.
• Ability to be a self-starter and have a willingness to work without direct supervision.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.
• The incumbent is required to maintain a valid driver license for the State of residency with a good driving record.

 

Knowledge Skills / Technical Requirements:

 

Detailed knowledge of working crude oil is required.
Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone communications. Must be able to work in severe weather conditions. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally. Ability to climb ladders and maneuver in small spaces. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Approximately 80% of time on the job is spent standing up. Requires on call availability at all hours. Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours. Extensive travel by vehicle in a geographic area.
