SummaryResponsible for managing and processing all daily and monthly activities associated with the fractionation, marketing and export sectors.  
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing & processing all daily and monthly activities associated with the fractionation, marketing and export sectors
  • Responsible for monthly close, margin tie out and variance analysis
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of intercompany & affiliate company transactions
  • Management, review & monthly reconciliation of all attendant general ledger accounts
  • Maintain SOX internal control processes
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit process
  • Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external users
  • Ad hoc requests by internal management

Requirements:  Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. 
  • 0-2 years of related experience – can include public accounting experience within the energy sector
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excel skills 
  • Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written
  • Excellent organization skills and work habits
  • Able to work comfortably in fast paced, unpredictable environment
  • Comfortable working in a team environment, including interaction with measurement, scheduling, commercial, contract administration and marketing departments

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Accountant/Associate Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. 
  • The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Entero application systems preferred
  • Experience with Derivative and Hedge accounting preferred
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
