Summary:  

This is an Analyst - Income Tax position. This position is responsible for federal and state tax compliance and provisions, the associated reporting functions, as well as tax account analysis and reconciliations. This department supports the partnership’s key objectives with the highest standards of conduct without compromise. Honesty, integrity and accountability are essential to our Partnership’s success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare federal, state and local tax returns, including related schedules, work papers and reports;
  • Calculate estimated tax payments for tax paying entities;
  • Prepare draft and/or check requests for payment of taxes and code payments to the correct general ledger accounts;
  • Reconcile income tax related accounts on the general ledger;
  • Research and respond to state tax notices and inquiries from taxing authorities;
  • Prepare state apportionment for partnership and corporate entities
  • Calculate monthly tax accruals for federal, state and foreign taxes; and
  • Work on special projects as needed

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • 2 – 5 years prior experience in corporate and/or partnership income tax compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree in accounting or taxation strongly preferred.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred. 
  • Excellent tax research skills using various tax services and sources such as CCH, RIA, BNA, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of corporate or partnership tax preparation software packages (OneSource IT, OneSource IT Express, GoRs, etc) is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Experience with Alteryx is desirable.
  • Experience with ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109) compliance is desirable.
  • Experience in OneSource State Apportionment is desirable.

 

Working Conditions: 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.  
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.  
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.  
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
