Summary:

Our team is looking for an experienced and motivated Application Development Specialist. You will be responsible for developing and supporting a variety of applications for the Commercial application development area. You will be a critical member of the team responsible for gathering requirements, documenting design, development new applications, and support changes that make a positive, rewarding impact for your customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze/design/code/test/implement applications according to company/industry best practices and standards.
  • Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software.
  • Stay up to date on current technologies, recommend strategies, and tools.
  • Work effectively under minimal supervision, maintaining ownership for all applications and areas of responsibility.
  • Perform on-call rotation.

 

Requirements: 
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience building .Net applications and capable of demonstrating an understanding of OO design patterns.
  • Knowledgeable in TypeScript, Asynchronous request handling, Cross-Browser compatibility.
  • Experience and understanding of RESTful API architecture for creating web services.
  • Must be highly proficient with SQL and SQL Stored Procedures
  • Must be able to identify potential software enhancements, analyze user needs, and provide recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Quickly learn new skills and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with the following technologies (1 or more in each category):
    • .NET 4.5 or higher, .Net Core, C#, VB.NET, ASP, JavaScript, XML HTML.
    • Angular or equivalent React experience with a desire to learn Angular.
    • Source Control: Git, SVN
    • Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
    • Containers, including Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •         Previous experience in Oil & Gas industry.

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • RabbitMQ
  • Redis
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Material Design
  • Logging libraries such as: Graylog, ELK, Serilog, Log4net
  • Monitoring tools such as: Grafana, Datadog, Splunk.
  • Continuous Integration: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise
  • Scripting languages: PowerShell, Groovy, Python, Bash, JavaScript

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Senior Specialist/ Senior Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/ Lead Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8-10 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience

Working Conditions:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 
  3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.  Primarily for training purposes where remote sessions can't be delivered.
