Job Functions

 

  • Experienced in multiple markets and/or commodities, preferably with transmix experience
  • Develops and implements short and long term corporate supply strategy
  • Negotiates contracts and term deals  
  • Evaluates regional supply/demand balances that affect commercial strategy
  • Directs multi-functional studies and participates in setting strategic plan
  • Manages value of product inventory 
  • Analyzes and generates process improvements

 

Skills/Knowledge

 

·         Develops and utilizes technical and fundamental market data to manage company exposure 

·         Thoroughly familiar with properties of Transmix and similar commodities 

·         Knowledgeable in transportation economics, trading economics and market intelligence

·         High level of understanding of commercial and trading principles and processes

·         Expected to propose and lead cross-functional strategy teams to optimize corporate return

 

Supervision

·         Subject to broad, managerial guidance

·         May lead planning teams and/or multi-functional strategic studies

·         Provides guidance to others on the team on a wide range of activities

·         Establishes formal strategies for area of responsibility

 

Influence

·         Primary liaison with major transmix suppliers

·         Develops an extensive network of internal and external industry contacts 

·         Seen and recognized by industry contacts as exemplary Sunoco professional with mature communication skills

·         Key negotiator with management of major customers to resolve difficulties or enhance opportunities 

·         Recognized by other groups and industry as knowledgeable professional 

·         Maintains and promotes teamwork between multiple organizational functions

Required Skills and qualifications.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial negotiations, or other assignment with outward facing commercial positions
  • Minimum 1 years experience in managing contracts and customer relationship
  • Well versed and experienced in Microsoft office (excel, powerpoint, word)
  • Analytical background with regards to contract renewals and economics
