Specialist - Safety
Summary:
The responsibilities of this position provides the support of our operations in many areas including reporting, investigations, as well as audits and compliance. This position provides oversight of employees on safe practices as well as ensures our employees are in compliance with the current training and SOP’s that the company provides.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Outlines and implements training programs about employee safety procedures and accident protection and prevention.
- Responsible for developing and distributing educational materials, inspecting company facilities, and recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
- Safety duties may include directing and administering various safety training programs, maintaining records, investigating accidents, preparing claim applications, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist level requires a HS Diploma and 6+ years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist level requires a HS Diploma and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related products
- Able to learn and use site specific software
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
