Summary:

Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, this position is responsible for safely operating and maintaining Terminal Measurement equipment. Some of the duties are, but are not limited to proving meters, documentation of results, maintenance of terminal and measurement equipment, preparation of various terminal reports and general maintenance and upkeep of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • An aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot and perform predictive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Interfacing with other internal, external and third party industry measurement related contacts/resources
  • Working closely with the Loss Control group on issues that relate to measurement
  • Climb tank stairs, operate valves and pumps, gauge tanks
  • Responsible for accepting product deliveries via pipeline and perform required sampling and testing of all products to maintain quality control.
  • Correctly complete all required paperwork prior to and after all product receipts.
  • Visually inspects the measurement equipment to ensure that it is mechanically sound and has no defective equipment.
  • Maintains assigned equipment including meters and sampling equipment.
  • Perform meter performance verifications using portable and/or stationary provers.
  • Witness meter performance verifications as performed by third party contractors, as needed.
  • Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Understand; system balance processes, ticket writing, statistical meter factor tracking, and verification and calibration of measurement equipment.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Must meet the requirements of the Company’s Operator Qualification program to perform identified covered tasks and remain compliant.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API and GPA requirements and procedures.
  • Must be able to identify and provide budgetary documentation for projects to improve measurement performance in their area. Be able track and report the progress of measurement projects and provide support to engineering and operations involved in the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license in the applicant’s state of residence.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills and be capable of effectively interfacing with all levels of management, field personnel, and professionals.
  • Able to use sound judgment, be a self-starter and well organized.
  • Proficiency utilizing MicroSoft applications.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
