Summary:

The Mechanical Specialist serves as the point person for maintenance, reliability, and performance of Dual Drive compression equipment.  The primary focus is to ensure safe, reliable operation of compression equipment and to ensure that the company SOP’s and Maintenance Standards and Procedures are followed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Technical Support – address complex technical issues related to compression, valves, processing equipment, and RCFA’s

·     Physical Asset Management– monitors reliability data (Unit Availability) and supports field teams and Reliability Specialist in resolving issues.

·     Engine/Compressor performance — monitors performance and provides technical solutions and/or problem resolution to achieve optimal engine and compressor performance.

·     Engine/Compressor maintenance — provides technical expertise to resolve complex maintenance problems.  Designs comprehensive maintenance approach to optimize resources and overall effectiveness.

·     Project Management – initiates budgetary estimates for assigned projects and manages projects including scoping, scheduling, planning, tracking and execution.

·     Identifies potential problems and interprets and applies the company’s procedures in compliance with industry codes and standards, and government regulations.  Represents the company in an agency audit, inspection, or enforcement action.

·     Develop training materials that instruct and verify the knowledge of field technical personnel that meets the requirements of the Employee Qualification Program.

·     Participates in new facility design and commissioning.

·     Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art equipment and innovations being developed for the natural gas pipeline industry to improve performance and safety. Recommends testing, evaluation and implementation when appropriate.

·     Participates in accident investigations and failure analysis on pipeline facilities.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

·     HS diploma or equivalent

·     8+ years of relevant job-related experience

·     Experience with Dual Drive Compressor packages.

·     Proven experience with Caterpillar 3600 series engines, Waukesha Gas engines, Ariel JGC/D, KBU, KBZ compressors preferred.

·     Experience with Hyundai motors, torsional couplings, and Clutch’s.

·     Knowledge of DOT 192 as it pertains to required testing and documentation for pipelines and compressor stations preferred

·     Working knowledge of MS Office and CAT ET preferred

·     Familiar with EPA Quad Z, Quad J and Quad O requirements and reporting preferred

·     Must provide valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record

·     Candidate will be required to take and pass a pre-employment drug test and will adhere to and is subject to all U.S. Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol related regulations and will be subject to a background check.

·     Previous work experience – minimum of 5 years

·     Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills, and a record of very positive work performance.

·     Read and understand equipment repair manuals and procedures

·     NOTE: must reside within 45 minutes from our selected office locations, Cleburne TX.

    ·     Works indoors and outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment.

    ·     Travel required to multiple locations in multiple areas. 50% or more.

    ·     Required to climb about equipment and work in close proximities.

    ·     Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.

    ·     Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.

    ·     Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.

    ·     Capable of lifting from ground level a load up to 50 lbs.

    ·     Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
