PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for working with other Managers – Control Center in leading and directing the activities of the Pipeline Control Center Operations group comprised of Pipeline Controllers (PC’s) and Lead Pipeline Controllers (LPC’s), who are all direct reports. This operation is a 24x7/365 operation which is responsible for operating of Energy Transfer Liquids pipelines across multiple states from the Houston, TX Control Center. The Manager must assist and/or direct the PC's and LPC’s in managing on-going day-to-day operations and/or abnormal & emergencies. The Manager has the overall responsibility of coordinating work plans for line and station work throughout the pipeline systems by consulting with field supervisors, engineers and pipeline scheduling on current issues, upcoming projects and by being proactive in identifying deficiencies to assure safe operations.
•    Lead a diverse work group to assure the proper execution of Normal, Abnormal and Emergency (NAE) operating procedures and policies.
•    Oversee the training and operator qualification activities of the PC’s; maintain / meet CRM regulations and regulatory compliance documentation.
•    Develop and maintain operating procedures to establish consistent practices in each area of the operation to meet the needs of the operations. 
•    Continuously evaluate and analyze pipeline operations to assure safe and efficient operations.
•    Prepare and administer work and vacation schedules to meet department needs; review staffing levels and skill sets of the PC's.
•    Coordinate on-going activities and projects with Engineering, Field Operations, Scheduling, and SCADA Systems staff; lead Incident Investigations relative to any operational upsets that are related to Control Center activities.
•    Serve as primary contact with field for daily work activities affecting the flow of product and/or monitoring and controlling the systems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent pipeline operations experience. 8+ years of experience.

•    Valid driver’s license.
•    Must have strong leadership ability, strong Computer Skills and strong verbal and written communications skills.
•    Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, engineers, and SCADA System employees.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
•    On call availability 24/7. Must be able to work shiftwork related to 24 / 7/ 365 operations (if required).

WORKING CONDITIONS
•    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
•    Usually, normal office working conditions.
•    Occasional overnight travel may be required.
•    Temporary work relocation due to Emergency Events as required. 
•    Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
